NEECO II – Area 2 Privay Policy

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

1.1. For our potential, existing and disconnected consumers, only information that are voluntarily provided the cooperative whether online or offline, such as:
• 1.1.1 Information such as name, date of birth, address, mobile number and email address when you apply for New Connection and during the registration for NEECO II – Area 2 Website and Mobile Application;
• 1.1.2. Data provided in response to our consumer surveys;
• 1.1.3. Any other information you voluntarily provide for any legitimate purpose declared at point of collection of such information.

2. OUR PURPOSE FOR DATA COLLECTION

The Cooperative gathers, stores, analyzes, interpret and processes the information you provide to us for the following reasons:
• 2.1. Managing your account;
• 2.2. Sending power interruption and disconnection of service schedules, updates on our service programs, policies and news;
• 2.3. Significant in authenticating the issues that will help us in improving our services and understanding our consumers need;
• 2.4. For identity verification, on your access for Website and Mobile application and for cash out.

3.DATA DISCLOSURE AND SHARING

NEECO II – Area 2 guarantees all its consumers that all gathered personal and sensitive information is confidential and restricted to NEECO II – Area 2 authorized employees only and shall be used in the implementation of the Cooperative’s services such as meter reading, inspection, power restoration etc.,

Further, NEECO II – Area 2 always adhere to Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the “Data Privacy Act of 2012” and Its Implementing Rules and Regulations, provided that the sharing and transfer of Personal Data must be subject to adequate safeguards for data privacy and security, to uphold the rights of the Data Subjects and must adhere to the data privacy principles laid down in the Act, the IRR, and all applicable issuances and/or guidelines of the National Privacy Commission.

4. INFORMATION SECURITY

NEECO II – Area 2 ensures data confidentiality in which all gathered information and files will be kept in the strictest confidence and shall protect the privacy, rights and freedom of its consumers.

Moreover, NEECO II – Area 2 shall undertake and implement reasonable organizational, physical, and technical security measures in collecting, receiving, transmitting, storing, and disposing data.

However, the Information Security shall NOT be achieved by the Cooperative alone. The Consumers having an access to the platform is responsible for the information they enter and input into the NEECO II – Area 2 Website and Mobile Application and shall take appropriate measures to ensure that any device that is being used to monitor or manage the account is secure and not accessible to anyone without permission

5. COOKIES AND AUTOMATIC DATA COLLECTION

In compliance with the principle of transparency and to maintain good relationship with the user of NEECO II – Area 2 Website, the Cooperative warrants that upon accepting the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, the user must also acknowledge and declare his CONSENT to this Cookies and Automatic Data Collection Tools Policy.

Our website uses Single-Session Cookies which helps the user during his/her navigation on our Website, and only record information temporarily which will be erased when he/she quits.

“A cookie is information saved by your web browser. When you visit a website, the site may place a cookie on your web browser so it can recognize your device in the future. If you return to that site later on, it can read that cookie to remember you from your last visit and keep track of you over time.”

The cooperative uses social media website and other third-party websites / applications. Any data gathered by these third-party websites are not stored and are not the responsibility of the cooperative.

6. PERSONAL DATA RETENTION

NEECO II – Area 2 will retain your personal / sensitive data for the following reason/s;
• a) for the fulfillment of the declared, specified, and legitimate purposes as stated, or when the processing relevant to the purpose has been completed or terminated;
• b) to settle, exercise or defend legal claims;
• c) for other legitimate purposes, that are consistent with the rules and policies of NEECO II – Area 2 or as required and approved regulatory agencies.

7. DISPOSAL

NEECO II – Area 2 assures that all your personal data shall be disposed or destroyed irreversibly with extra care and no chance of recovery.

Paper shall be shredded using an office shredder while the digital data shall be destroyed by deleting or overwriting information or destroying the physical media such as flash drives and hard drive.

8. CONTROLLING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

You have the right (in the circumstances and under the conditions, and subject to the exceptions, set out in applicable law) to:

• 8.a. Object or withdraw consent*. You may object to the processing of your personal data or withdraw consent at any point of processing by contacting the Data Privacy Officer of NEECO II – Area 2
• 8.b. Request erasure of your personal data. You may request to erase your personal data upon determination that they are no longer necessary to achieve legitimate services declared in NEECO II – Area 2 website and applications, or upon the discovery that the processing has prejudiced or will prejudice your fundamental rights.

*This will not affect the lawfulness of the processing that was carried out before you withdrew your consent or NEECO II – Area 2 right to continue parts of the processing based on other legal bases than your consent. You may request for the correction of your personal information in our possession if you believe that it is inaccurate or incomplete.
